Why Los Feliz comes to Dr. Lashai for pain

Pain relief that targets the cause.

If you live in Los Feliz, acupuncture for pain relief is about five minutes away, straight down Hillhurst and Sunset. Acupuncture is recognized by the NIH’s NCCIH and the World Health Organization for chronic pain, and Dr. Lashai brings nearly 20 years of clinical experience to back, neck, and nerve pain.

  • Back, neck, sciatica and migraine: the patterns we treat most.
  • Breaks the pain-spasm cycle by treating what is driving it.
  • Electro-acupuncture and cupping: for deep, stubborn tension.
  • Drug-free and coordinated: works alongside your physician; see pain conditions.
  • A clear plan: most courses run four to six visits before we reassess. No open-ended packages.
  • Five minutes from Los Feliz: easy parking on Sunset Drive.

Straight answers

Your questions, handled.

Does acupuncture actually work, or is it placebo?
It's one of the most researched therapies in complementary medicine, recognized by the WHO and NIH for pain, nausea, and more. In this practice you get a DAOM acupuncturist and Fellow of the ABORM, board-certified by the California Acupuncture Board and NCCAOM (now NCBAHM), with nearly 20 years of experience, not a weekend-certificate provider.
Does it hurt? I'm scared of needles.
The needles are about the width of a hair, and most patients feel only a light pressure or warmth, with many falling asleep on the table. If needle fear is the thing stopping you, tell us; we go slow and you stay in control the whole time.
Do you take my insurance? How much is it?
We are out-of-network with most insurers. We provide a superbill at the end of each visit that you can submit for reimbursement, and HSA and FSA cards are accepted. Pricing is transparent, so you'll know the cost before you book. Cupping, red light therapy, and other treatments are charged additionally, typically between $30 and $50. Ask us about custom packages.
How many sessions before I feel relief?
Many patients feel a shift after the first visit. For chronic pain we usually plan a course of 6–10 visits and reassess together, rather than open-ended packages.
Can I keep taking my pain medication?
Yes. Acupuncture is complementary and safe alongside medication, and many patients gradually reduce their reliance as they improve, always in coordination with their doctor.
What makes Dr. Lashai different?
Nearly 20 years in practice (since 2005), a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and a clinical teaching role at Yo San University, with whole-person care one-on-one every visit.
How far is the clinic from Los Feliz?
About five minutes. Our clinic sits at 4443 Sunset Dr, just down the hill from Los Feliz Village, with easy street parking. Many patients come from Los Feliz, Franklin Hills, and Los Feliz Hills.
Do you treat sciatica and sports injuries for Los Feliz patients?
Yes. Sciatica, disc-related nerve pain, and sports and overuse injuries are among the most common cases we see. We combine acupuncture with electro-acupuncture and cupping, and you can book a consultation to start.
