How acupuncture helps

The mechanisms behind the results.

01

HPA axis regulation

Modulates the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, reducing cortisol and adrenaline output and restoring the hormonal rhythm that governs energy, sleep, and mood.

02

Parasympathetic activation

Shifts the nervous system from sympathetic (fight-or-flight) dominance to parasympathetic (rest-and-digest), the state required for sleep onset and sustained rest.

03

Neurotransmitter support

Stimulates serotonin and GABA production, the neurotransmitters behind calm, mood stability, and sleep maintenance, without the dependency profile of pharmacological options.

An initial consultation answers it.

Frequently asked

Common questions.

Acupuncture is not a replacement for psychotherapy or psychiatric care in severe cases, but it works alongside them effectively. Many patients with mild to moderate anxiety notice a significant reduction in baseline reactivity and physical symptoms (tight chest, shallow breathing, racing thoughts) within a few weeks of consistent treatment.
In Chinese medicine, waking between 1–3 AM is associated with Liver energy and the Wood phase of the circadian cycle. This is a specific and very treatable pattern. Most patients with this complaint see improvement within 4–6 sessions.
Burnout reflects a deeper depletion of Kidney and Adrenal Yin in Chinese medicine terms, not just excess stimulation. Treatment for burnout involves more tonification (building the depleted reserves) and a longer course of care than acute stress management.
