How acupuncture helps

The mechanisms behind the results.

01

Hormonal regulation

Modulates the HPO axis to regulate the menstrual cycle, support egg quality, and balance estrogen and progesterone through each cycle phase.

02

Uterine blood flow

Improves circulation to the uterus and ovaries, building a nutrient-rich endometrial lining critical for implantation and early embryo development.

03

Stress & cortisol

Chronic stress suppresses reproductive hormones. Acupuncture lowers cortisol and shifts the nervous system into a state more receptive to conception.

Frequently asked

Common questions.

Acupuncture cannot change the chromosomal makeup of eggs, but it can improve the environment in which eggs develop. Better blood flow to the ovaries, hormone regulation, and reduced inflammation in the weeks before retrieval may support egg quality over a 90-day cycle.
Ideally three months before retrieval, aligning with the full egg development cycle. However, patients who begin closer to transfer day still benefit. Pre- and post-transfer sessions on the day of transfer are also well-supported in the research.
Yes. Hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood fluctuations, and irregular cycles are among the most common perimenopausal concerns patients bring in. Acupuncture and herbal medicine together address the underlying hormonal shifts rather than masking individual symptoms.
